“In future, diseases will be better avoided and cured if we help the medical profession to better understand the occurrence of disease in each individual.”
The Kühne Foundation is convinced that personalised medicine provides significant innovative impetus for therapy and prevention. It therefore specifically funds projects that are committed to this approach.
In the funding area medicine the Kühne Foundation started its work with a focus on allergic diseases. It therefore established the project CK-CARE / Christine Kühne Center for Allergy Research and Education in 2009 in Davos. The objective is to minimise the medical impact of allergies, a major widespread disease, through research and education. In close collaboration with Hochgebirgsklinik Davos and the Swiss Institute for Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) CK-CARE is currently establishing a unique facility that will fully exploit the synergies between therapy, research and education.
