Elbphilharmonie

The Kühne Foundation first sponsored the concert activities of the Elbphilharmonie in 2012. Prior to this, it had already co-financed the construction. In 2017, it not only supported the two opening concerts, but also the subsequent opening festival, which lasted several weeks. 

Between 2014 and 2020, the Kühne Foundation was the main sponsor of the International Music Festival. This festival, initially conceived as a biennial, has now firmly established itself in the European cultural calendar and enriches the cultural life of the Hanseatic City due to the variety of artistic offerings and performances by renowned artists, ensembles and orchestras.

In 2021, the Kühne Foundation extended its partnership with the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and has been a principal sponsor ever since. This sponsorship was recently extended until 2026.
