Presidium of the Kühne Foundation’s Board of Trustees appointed

The Board of Trustees is the highest governing body of the Kühne Foundation and determines its strategic direction. Following the passing of Klaus-Michael Kühne, the Board of Trustees, at its meeting on September 11, 2026, confirmed Dr. Thomas Staehelin as President of the Board of Trustees and elected Dr. Jörg Dräger as Vice President of the Board.

Dr. Thomas Staehelin has been a member of the Kühne Foundation’s Board of Trustees since 1998. Dr. Jörg Dräger was first elected to the Kühne Foundation’s Board of Trustees in 2008 and has served as its Executive Director since 2022.

With these elections, the Kühne Foundation is committed to continuity. The Foundation’s international work in the fields of logistics, medicine, climate, and culture is to be further developed in accordance with the founder’s vision. The founder’s vision will continue to shape the Foundation’s future actions: The Foundation is to bring about sustainable improvements in society through active, efficient, and hands-on efforts.

The Foundation Board consists of Christine Kühne, Michael Behrendt, Dr. Thomas Buberl, Karl Gernandt, Dr. Wolfgang Peiner, Dr. Marc Pfeffer, Tobias Staehelin, Dr. Joerg Wolle as well as Dr. Thomas Staehelin and Dr. Jörg Dräger.
