Excellence in logistics. Making a difference to the world.
The Kühne Foundation combines operational excellence in logistics, academic excellence and sustainable capacity building. This serves as the foundation for economic development, resilient systems and responsible leadership.
Since 2010, the Kühne Foundation has been developing and strengthening international initiatives to promote expertise in logistics and supply chain management. The focus is on academic education, applied research and practical capacity-building in various regions of the world.
The Kühne Logistics University (KLU) in Hamburg is synonymous with academic excellence in supply chain management. Thanks to its international orientation and AACSB accreditation, it ranks among the world’s leading business schools. Its research and teaching combine sustainability, digital transformation and artificial intelligence with a clear focus on leadership.
Since 2014, the Foundation has been expanding logistics expertise in developing and emerging economies through its HELP and LEARN programs. HELP strengthens operational logistics systems in the humanitarian and public sectors and supports partner organizations with analysis, strategy and implementation. LEARN develops study programs, trains lecturers and supports universities in logistics management to enhance graduates` employability.
In addition, the Kühne Foundation supports endowed professorships in Berlin and Bogotá, thereby strengthening research, teaching and the transfer of knowledge in logistics and supply chain management.
All these initiatives aim to strengthen efficient supply chains as a lever for economic stability, effective crisis response and sustainable development – through partnership, evidence-based approaches and with long-term impact.
The Kühne Foundation strengthens logistics expertise through academic programs, applied research and practical analyses across the entire supply chain.
KLU offers degree programs, PhD programs and executive education of an international standard. Small study groups and a global network open up excellent prospects for students. The research combines cutting-edge topics in logistics with a clear practical focus.
HELP supports humanitarian organizations and donors worldwide in setting up and optimizing their logistics systems – through analysis, strategy development and implementation in collaboration with local partners.
LEARN strengthens academic capacity in logistics management by developing curricula, training teaching staff and promoting research – particularly in collaboration with universities in sub-Saharan Africa.
