KLU has been awarded the prestigious AACSB accreditation, which is reserved for the world’s best business schools

An international mark of quality for outstanding teaching: KLU has been accredited by the American Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). The AACSB is regarded as one of the most prestigious accreditations for business schools worldwide and confirms the highest standards of teaching and research. This seal of quality reaffirms that Kühne Logistics University is not only one of the world’s leading universities in the field of logistics and supply chain management, but also ranks among the best business schools and management universities globally.

“We are very proud to have received AACSB accreditation and to thus officially rank among the top five per cent of the world’s leading business schools,” said Prof. Dr Andreas Kaplan, President of KLU. “This achievement is particularly significant, as the accreditation process takes several years and requires an institution to have been in existence for at least a decade. Kühne Logistics University, which was only founded in 2010, could not have reached this milestone any sooner. This achievement is further proof that, thanks to the strong support of the Kühne Foundation, KLU has consistently delivered excellence in teaching and research since its foundation.”

Seal of quality for excellent teaching

KLU has once again demonstrated that it possesses the resources, qualifications and commitment to offer its students a first-class, future-oriented education. “AACSB accreditation is proof of our commitment to excellence,” emphasises Niels Tolkiehn, Head of Quality Management. “This achievement is the result of the joint efforts of our lecturers, students and staff. It underlines our commitment to creating a learning environment that meets the highest international standards and prepares our graduates for success in the global marketplace.”

KLU reaffirmed as a global leader

The AACSB is a not-for-profit organisation and has stood for the highest quality standards since 1916. To receive the coveted AACSB seal of approval, participating organisations must demonstrate excellence across nine standards, which are divided into three main areas. These include strategic management, which covers the university’s mission and capacity for innovation; the quality of teaching and support for students and staff; and the institution’s social impact and thought leadership. KLU performed impressively in all these categories. Its international character was recently highlighted, for example, by the new KLU campus currently under construction in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

A collective achievement by KLU

Last but not least, the accreditation demonstrates the commitment of the entire KLU community. Stephanie M. Bryant, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of the AACSB, stated in her press release: “AACSB accreditation recognises institutions that demonstrate excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development and student learning. We congratulate KLU President Andreas Kaplan on the accreditation and commend the entire team – including the administration, academic staff, support staff and students – for their role in achieving this prestigious accolade.”

Multi-award-winning teaching

In addition to the AACSB seal, all KLU degree programmes have also been awarded the FIBAA Premium Seal. The FIBAA Quality Seal is awarded worldwide to higher education institutions and degree programmes in recognition of their high quality, and assesses the work of institutions across more than 50 categories.
