Special concert by Hamburg's Philharmonic State Orchestra.

With a special concert on September 3, 2023 in the Elbphilharmonie, the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra thanked Klaus-Michael Kühne and the Kühne Foundation for their generous support. Spread over the last five years, the Kühne Foundation has supported the orchestra with a major donation, from which not only the Philharmonic State Orchestra but also the Hamburg State Opera and its musical radiance have benefited. 

The guest on this special occasion was star singer Elīna Garanča, with SeokJong Baek and Egils Silins at her side. Under the baton of General Music Director Kent Nagano, they joined forces with the Philharmonic State Orchestra to present a concert program conceived especially for Klaus-Michael Kühne, combining concert and opera repertoire. Highlights from Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet" and excerpts from the opera "Samson et Dalila" were played.
