Summer of Music at Lake Zurich

The cradle of the Summer of Music at Lake Zurich is formed by the concerts on the island of Ufenau, which were initiated by Giovanni Bria and renowned cultural figures from the Lake Zurich region and first took place in 1993 in cooperation with Einsiedeln Monastery. While singing Gregorian chants in the time-honoured church of St. Peter and Paul, the idea was born to organise a summer concert cycle in the most beautiful places around Lake Zurich.

From the very beginning, it has been a special concern of the Music Summer to combine selected, sometimes historic places in scenic locations with appropriate music in a meaningful way, thus creating a harmony (music & architecture, music & landscape). A diverse range of music is also intended to provide all interested parties with a special concert experience, and this deliberately beyond the cantonal borders.

Since 1996, the Music Summer on Lake Zurich has enriched the cultural landscape around Lake Zurich. As part of this series of events, the Kühne Foundation has sponsored a festive concert in the Catholic Church in Feusisberg for many years.
