Opening of a new Kühne Foundation Office in Tanzania

In a next step towards broadening its activities in Africa, the Kühne Foundation established a new country office in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania as an international NGO on March 3, 2023. With a mission to make a positive impact in Tanzania, the office will initially support the activities of LEED – Logistics Education in Emerging & Developing Countries such as capacity building in higher education related to logistics and supply chain management and contributing to SAfA – Foundation Alliance for Africa and country project with the objective to improve the living conditions of Youth in Tanzanian rural areas. Specifically, the national team will offer training courses and consultancy services in Logistics Supply Chain Management, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

Dr. Lester Shawa will assume the role of Managing Director and Chairman of the Kühne Foundation Tanzania. Beatrice Millu will support in the role of Operations Manager and Executive Secretary while Jorida Shehu completes the management team in her role as Treasurer, overseeing the financial aspects of the foundation's projects and ensuring transparency in all financial transactions. Oversight of the local office and its related projects is ensured by the Board of Directors, with Dr. Andre Kreie as appointed and elected Chair.
