Rethinking the management of unexpected events for resilient and sustainable supply chains

What can manufacturing SMEs, the military, and humanitarian stakeholders learn from each other to make supply chains more resilient and sustainable?

Recent global events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, have caused severe disruptions to supply chains, impacting the availability of essential goods around the globe.

The RESPIRE project connects supply chain experts from the manufacturing industry with experts from other sectors that have crisis management at the core of their operations: the military and humanitarian organizations. These industries face common logistic and supply chain challenges. The RESPIRE project aims to enhance societal and industrial resilience by facilitating knowledge exchange between experts in different sectors with similar supply chain challenges.

HELP Logistics, in partnership with the Chalmers University of Technology, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, and FOI, is developing a blueprint that organisations can use to prepare for and manage supply chain disruptions. The blueprint is due to be completed in 2024.

This project falls under HELP Logistics’ ongoing efforts to strengthen global supply chains through supporting cross-sectoral knowledge exchange.
