Dr. Georg Schäppi will take over the newly created position of CEO of the Davos Medical Campus as of 1 July 2025 and thus assume strategic and operational responsibility for the activities of the Kühne Foundation in the healthcare sector.

Dr. Schäppi worked for the Kühne Foundation from 2010 to 2020 as Director and later Delegate of the Board of Directors, he played a key role in the development of CK-CARE, the Kühne Foundation's international allergy research and training centre. From 2016, he was CEO of the Hochgebirgsklinik Davos, which was taken over by the Kühne Foundation. He played a leading role in the conception and expansion of the Davos Medical Campus.
Since 2020, Dr. Schäppi has been CEO of the University Children's Hospital Zurich (Kispi), the largest children's hospital in Switzerland. He was responsible for the commissioning of the new acute hospital and a research and teaching complex at the new site in Zurich-Lengg, as well as the planning and realisation of the relocation of the entire operation. Following the successful relocation of the Kispi and the start of regular operations at the new site, Georg Schäppi is now taking on a new and challenging role at the Kühne Foundation. Together with the teams at the Davos Medical Campus, he will continue to expand and develop the Kühne Foundation's institutions there for the future.

The Davos Medical Campus offers integrated healthcare. The Hochgebirgsklinik has developed into one of the leading rehabilitation clinics in Switzerland. With CK-CARE and Cardio-CARE, two internationally recognised research programmes of the Kühne Foundation in the fields of allergology and cardiology have been established on the campus, as has the transfer company Davos BioSciences. The renowned Swiss Institute for Allergy Research SIAF is also located on the campus. The commitment of the Canton of Graubünden and the University of Zurich to the Davos Medical Campus significantly strengthens it in terms of research and transfer. A total of almost 550 employees work on the medical campus.
